What is the wind on your site — right now

Choose a country and a town (or the one nearest your site) — we will compare the current wind and the gust forecast with the typical operating limits of a crane. The limits are the same everywhere; what differs is how often your area exceeds them.

Strongest daily gusts — next 7 days (km/h)

Thresholds on the chart: 50 km/h — heighteSun caution and preparation to stop · 72 km/h — the typical operating limit (depending on the model and the load). An indicative forecast for a height of 10 m — at the top of the crane the wind is stronger; the anemometer on the crane and the operator’s judgement are what govern. The wind signature of this country

The same physics, five faces

A crane does not care what the wind is called — it cares how strong the udar is (a sudden burst lasting 2–3 seconds), because it is the gust, not the average speed, that pushes against the jib and the load. For rental planning it therefore makes no difference whether the building is going up in Zagreb, Ljubljana, Belgrade or Graz: the same threshold and the same anemometer apply. The only difference is how many days a year your area exceeds that threshold — and that is exactly what the local winds below determine.

Why the gust and not the average

Gusty winds (bora, burja, košava, foehn) can be 2–5× stronger in the gust than the average speed. A crane is safe at an average of 30 km/h, but not when that average brings gusts of 80.

Why height changes everything

At the top of the crane the wind is noticeably stronger than at the 10 m height the forecast applies to. That is why the final word always belongs to the anemometer on the crane itself, not to an app.

Do we work in neighbouring countries? This page shows that we understand the working conditions across the whole region — whether and where we take on work outside Croatia is agreed directly with the owner for each enquiry.
